Your first visit is a thorough examination by a clinician, trained in the specificity of your enquiry, and accompanied by our treatment co-ordinator. QDC is attentive to your ultimate comfort, time, and needs.
Consultation Process
Upon arrival, our friendly staff will greet you and make you feel right at home. By now you have completed our Medical History form (prior to consultation). If you prefer, we can help you to complete the form on the day of your visit. You will be introduced to your Dentist and settled in. We proceed to take photographs and relevant X-rays to provide us with a clear and comprehensive picture of your oral health. We listen very carefully to your expectations and desired outcome.
Typically with an initial examination, it is recommended that you have 2 routine visits + mouth X-rays and an X-ray of your whole mouth and jaw region (OPG). Now we have a full picture of your oral health, we can then confidently give you an overview, and develop a treatment plan.
QDC speaks with you to convey our findings. We show you the pictures and carefully outline any problem areas before presenting treatment options. Once you have decided on the option that is best for you – we give you a printout of the estimated fee + item numbers, should you wish to check with your health fund to evaluate how much they will cover.
It’s understandable that providing exact fees can be challenging without a full examination. To assist our patients with an idea of potential costs, we include a fee range for each procedure. Please note that these ranges are before any health fund rebates. At QDC, we use HICAPS to ensure you have minimal out-of-pocket expenses once health fund rebates are applied.
A comprehensive examination is the first step in assessing and getting your oral health back on track. During an examination we try to identify:
